Biblical Interpretation

A thorough revision and update of a textbook that won a Christianity Today Book of the Year Award, Gerald Bray offers a careful survey of the rich inheritance of biblical interpretation in the life of the church.

Suitable for use as a textbook, yet readable and accessible to a wide readership, Bray's organizational scheme allows readers to quickly grasp the issues, methods and interpreters of each period or school, and see how contemporary issues and perennial questions have shaped the way the church has read and used the Bible.

This is history with a clear message, written in the vibrant conviction that biblical interpretation and Christian doctrine go hand in hand.
