Description
The 2023 Edinburgh Dogmatics Conference focused on the theme of “The Holy Spirit and the Church.” It is tempting to observe that these are both unusual topics for a conference in the Reformed theological tradition. In recent generations Reformed theology has a reputation of ignoring both. That is not true of the deeper tradition of Reformed theology, which has had a robust account of the work of the Spirit and high ecclesiology. The papers at the conference returned to those themes recovering some of the riches of older theology and also exploring the challenges and implications for the faith in the twenty-first century. Each chapter was given as a paper at the conference. They retain something of the directness of papers that were read to an audience.
